Child safety standards
Veilful is an adults-only platform. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation, and we act on every report.
1. Our commitment
Veilful prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form, without exception. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), the sexualization of a minor, grooming, sextortion, solicitation of a minor, and the trafficking or exploitation of a child.
This is not a tolerance threshold we balance against other considerations. A single confirmed instance results in immediate and permanent removal from Veilful and referral to the appropriate authorities.
These standards apply to every part of Veilful — voice recordings, messages, calls, profile answers, and any content submitted through an invitation or vouch link.
2. Minors are not permitted on Veilful
Veilful is for adults aged 21 and over. Accounts belonging to anyone under that age are not permitted, and are removed whenever we identify them.
Age is not self-declared. Before a member can reach any social part of the product, they must complete government-issued identity verification through Didit, our identity verification partner, using an official photo identity document that carries their date of birth.
This verification is a mandatory gate, not an optional trust badge. Until it passes, an account cannot be matched, cannot open a conversation, cannot send a message, and cannot place a call. There is no path through the product that skips it.
Identity documents are handled entirely by Didit. Veilful never receives, views, or stores them — we receive only the pass or fail decision.
3. What our product does and does not allow
Veilful is voice-first and deliberately narrow in what members can submit:
- There is no photo or video upload anywhere in the app. The application ships no camera and no image-picker capability. Members cannot send an image to another member under any circumstance.
- Member-created content is limited to voice recordings and text messages exchanged inside a mutual match, plus voice answers on a member's own profile.
- Nobody can contact a member without a mutual match. There are no unsolicited messages, no open inbox, and no public search or discovery of other members.
- Members are anonymous by default. Real names, photographs, and contact details are never captured at signup.
We state this plainly because it shapes the risk: the most common vector for CSAM distribution — uploading and sending images — does not exist in this product.
4. How to report a child safety concern
If you encounter anything on Veilful that puts a child at risk, report it. There are two ways, and both reach us:
In the app. Open the options menu (the ⋯ icon) on any match or conversation and choose Report. Describe what happened in your own words. Submitting the report immediately ends the connection and flags the account for our safety team.
By email. Write to support@veilful.ai. This is our designated child safety point of contact and is reachable by anyone — including people who do not use Veilful, and members reporting someone they are not matched with. In the app the same address is available under Help & Support → Email the team.
For a child safety concern, email is the fastest route to a human and works in every situation. Reports are confidential. We do not disclose a reporter's identity to the person they reported.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
5. How we handle reports
CSAE reports are treated as the highest priority and are triaged ahead of all other reports.
- We review the report and the associated account.
- We preserve the relevant records and evidence as required by law, and do not delete them on request while an investigation or referral is active.
- We remove the offending content and permanently ban the account. A banned account is blocked at sign-in and cannot be used again.
- We take action against a confirmed violation regardless of whether the reported member disputes it.
6. Reporting to authorities
Where we identify apparent child sexual abuse material or credible child exploitation, we report it to the appropriate authority rather than handling it internally.
- In the United States, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via its CyberTipline.
- Outside the United States, to the relevant national reporting body or law enforcement agency for the jurisdiction involved — for example the Internet Watch Foundation in the United Kingdom.
- We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement in the course of a child safety investigation.
7. Child safety point of contact
Veilful's designated point of contact for child safety matters, including reports, law enforcement enquiries, and questions about these standards, is:
Veilful Child Safety Team
support@veilful.ai
We aim to acknowledge child safety correspondence within 24 hours.
8. Compliance
These standards are published in compliance with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy for dating and social applications, and are maintained alongside applicable child protection law in the jurisdictions where Veilful operates.
We review these standards as the product changes, and update this page when our practices change. This page is public, permanent, and not editable by members.
